What winter weather services does Freedom Village provide?
Included in your monthly fee, Freedom Village Holland offers a wide range of winter safety and support services, including:

Does Freedom Village provide transportation to medical appointments in winter?
Yes. We provide safe, reliable transportation to and from medical appointments year-round — including throughout snowstorms and cold-weather conditions. Our trained drivers monitor weather and road safety to ensure timely travel.
Do ground-floor apartments receive patio snow removal?
They do. Residents in ground-floor homes benefit from patio snow clearing, especially important for pet owners who need safe access outdoors during winter weather.
How does Freedom Village manage snow and ice removal across campus?
Our Maintenance Team performs continuous snow and ice removal during winter weather events. This includes:
- Clearing sidewalks and pedestrian paths
- Maintaining building entrances
- Treating high-traffic areas for ice
- Keeping parking lots and driveways accessible
Safety is our top priority, and crews work throughout the day and evening.
What does Security do during snow or ice storms?
Our Security team enhances winter safety by:
- Conducting additional rounds
- Checking for icy or hazardous areas
- Assisting with snow and ice removal
- Calling in additional crews when needed

What if I lose heat or have an emergency maintenance issue?
Freedom Village provides 24/7 emergency maintenance support. If you experience a heating issue, cooling problem, or any urgent repair need, simply call the main line — a technician will be dispatched immediately.
Do I need to register for any of these winter weather services?
Most services require no sign-up. All core winter safety and convenience services — including valet parking, medical transportation, snow and ice removal, and emergency maintenance — are provided year-round and included in your monthly service fee.
For valet service or medical transportation, calling ahead helps our staff prepare for your request.
How will I receive important winter weather updates?
Residents receive timely updates through:
- The resident portal

These updates include road conditions, snow removal progress, service changes, and safety reminders.

Additional private duty services are available through another signature program — Innovative Home Services™. Personalized, convenient and affordable, most services are available seven days a week, can be implemented within 24 hours, and can be used on a short- or long-term basis. These include concierge services such as pet care, ironing and light meal prep, supportive services such as grooming and care management, and medication programs such as nursing oversight and medication reminders.
